Celtics Acquire Jrue Holiday from Blazers

Holiday Signs Four-Year, $135 Million Extension

Deal Completed Days After Holiday's Trade from Milwaukee

The Boston Celtics have acquired guard Jrue Holiday from the Portland Trail Blazers, according to multiple reports.

Holiday was originally traded to the Blazers from the Milwaukee Bucks in the blockbuster deal that sent Damian Lillard to Milwaukee.

After arriving in Boston, Holiday agreed to a four-year, $135 million contract extension with the Celtics.

The move reunites Holiday with Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens, who coached Holiday at Butler University.

Holiday is a three-time All-Star and a one-time All-Defensive Team selection. He averaged 17.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game for the Bucks last season.

The Celtics are hoping that Holiday can help them compete for their first NBA championship since 2008.
